I bought this GTO in 1986 for my son (his first car). According to PHS, this car came as a 400 2bbl, air and column shift auto. Not quite the GTO you would want for cruising! Over the years, we've installed a correct 67 400 H.O. motor, bored it .30 over, added a Lunati Ram Air III cam, converted the column shift to a floor mounted Hurst Dual-Gate, and replaced the 400 turbo with a 400 Terminator with 2800 stall and HP Transgo stage 2 shift kit. An Edelbrock 600 cfm carb sits atop the stock H.O. manifold. The interior is mostly original, minus new door panels, carpet and a few chrome trim accessories. A fresh coat of Signet Gold paint was recently applied. Future plans include updating the air conditioner and suspension, plus installing a posi-trac rear end. She's fun, fast and gets plenty of attention! My son is now an Air Force pilot but loves to get home as often as possible to 'fly' his old Goat!
